If you follow your GPS, we guarantee you’ll end up with some problems. For those of you coming from the North of Quincy, the Neponset River Bridge is under construction and tricky to navigate. For others, the Christmas Parade will close the usual streets that your GPS would take you on to get to QHS. So we are offering you help avoiding those problems. Good Luck.
From the South coming up Rte 3: Take the Braintree Union Street exit, coming down the ramp, take the first exit off the rotary onto Union Street. Follow Union Street all the way to the end and take a left at the lights. (Chair Fair will be in front of you). Follow this up the hill, past Curry Hardware, continuing on thru one light. Pass a Dunkin Donuts on the right, over railroad tracks, thru another light. After that light take a right continuing onto Rte 53 with Walgreen’s on your right. Stay on this road through many lights past Baxter Pharmacy and the Washington Street (3A) intersection. Keep on this road for another half mile or so eventually coming to Dunkin Donuts and Stop ‘n Shop on your left. Continue through the lights. As you get to the Wollaston Cemetery on your right and Faxon Field Park on your left take the next left which is Russell Park. This brings you to the Quincy High parking lot near the tennis courts. Enter through the school through the rotunda.
From the North through Boston and from the Mass Pike East on Rte 93 : Take Exit 12 Quincy/Neponset from 93 (Just after JFK and UMass). As you come off the exit ramp you’ll want to stay in the 2nd lane from the left at Neponset Circle. On the bridge continue in the left hand lane to go over the bridge and onto Quincy Shore Drive. The Neponset River Bridge is under construction is under construction and it doesn’t give you any space to change your mind. As you follow that road over the bridge and down, you will continue on this for several miles, following Quincy Shore Drive with the beach on your left. At the end of the beach take a right onto Furnace Brook Pkwy, follow this to the next light and take a left onto Rte 3A, Southern Artery. Follow this down about 4 blocks and take a right onto Russell Park (Mount Wollaston Cemetery will be on your left). Follow this road to the parking lots near the tennis courts. Enter the school through the Rotunda doors.
From Rte 128: Take the right fork at the Braintree South Shore Plaza to Cape Cod Rte 3 South. Immediately take the Washington Street/Quincy Center exit. Stay to the right and go towards Braintree (not Quincy Center). Trust us! As you come up the ramp to the lights take a left onto Washington Street. At the next set of lights a few feet away, BEAR RIGHT (a 2 o’clock right) onto Washington Street keeping Archbishop Williams High School on your left. Follow Washington Street to the end and take a left onto Franklin Street. Take your first right at the next set of lights onto Kendrick Ave which becomes Faxon Park Road. Follow to the end and take a right onto Quincy Ave. At your second set of lights (Walgreen’s diagonally across on your left) take a left onto the Southern Artery/Rte 53 putting Walgreens on your right. Stay on this road for two miles or so (very windy road) eventually coming upon Dunkin Donuts and Stop ‘n Shop on your left. Continue straight through the lights until the Mount Wollaston Cemetery is on your right. Take a left onto Russell Park. Follow until you get to the parking lot next to the tennis courts on the left side. Enter the school through the rotunda.
